Allison Shockley Volunteer Placement Specialist; Hillsborough Kids. Volunteer Speaker for Community Campaign Against Human Trafficking. Allison earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California. This is where she began working with teens in foster care during her time with AmeriCorps. Since graduating from College, Allison has worked serving children and families in California, Alabama and Florida. She now works placing children in licensed foster care settings. Allison works closely with the runaway population and victims of Human Trafficking in foster care. Allison has completed the two on line Human Trafficking Courses offered by the St. Pete College Center for Public Safety Innovation; along with the 8 hour classroom training offered by RCPI. Other trainings include "Teens Trafficked in the US: How You Can Help" offered by the Family Justice Center and the Hillsborough Kids Conference Workshop on "Commercially Sexually Exploited Children." She attends Clearwater/Tampa Bay Area Human Trafficking Task Force Meetings. Allison is motivated to bring awareness to the vulnerability of our young girls in foster care and bring to light the ways they are targeted.
